Your baby at 3 months pregnant

Your baby is now called a fetus. The tail has disappeared, fingers and toes have separated, and tooth buds, nails and hair follicles are forming. The kidneys start to make urine and reflexes develop, so your baby can curl its fingers and toes. By the end of the month your baby is about 7.4 cm long, and the placenta has taken over feeding your baby and making hormones.

Nausea often peaks around weeks 9 and 10, then fades for most women by 12 to 14 weeks. Your energy may start coming back. Your womb grows up out of your pelvis, so some women see the very start of a bump, especially in a second pregnancy. Skin and hair changes, headaches and dizziness are common.

Common symptoms at 3 months pregnant

  • Tiredness that slowly lifts
  • Headaches and dizziness
  • Heartburn
